So at long last, I have a driver's license again! The whole sordid tale has been recounted several times before, but the Coles Notes version is that due to how badly the immigration arm of the US government works, I wasn't able to renew my New Hampshire license before I left for California and thus was stuck with an expired license once I reached my new home.
Now I just have to get my car fixed up so it can be registered in California. This is probably going to take a bit of money so it may wait a little bit; the cats wound up being a pretty steep initial expense. Do you know how much my apartment complex wanted for a pet deposit? *$1000*. Yeah, I didn't accidentally add an extra zero. Seriously, WTF Stanford West?
